One of the UK’s most high-profile retail digital-out-of-home sites, the curved LED at Westfield Stratford City in London, has been fully upgraded after nearly nine years of uninterrupted service. A partnership between outdoor media company Ocean Outdoor, Daktronics and digital signage specialist Esprit Digital delivered the complex project on time and within budget. Using the latest 10mm 9000nit Dak tiles to form a 17 x 6m landscape screen high above ‘The Street’ on the outside of department store John Lewis, the entire operation took one month. The result has been described as “nothing short of a scaled-down Piccadilly Circus”. Chris Lynham, head of media and client operations, UK & Europe at Unibail-RodamcoWestfield, said: “Four Dials is the showpiece screen at Westfield Stratford. The original Daktronics screen performed well throughout the eight years of its life, and we have once again partnered with Esprit Digital to deliver the replacement which is a fantastic addition to our industry-leading portfolio at the heart of Europe’s busiest shopping mall.” Peter Livesey, CEO of Esprit Digital, said: “Dak LEDs continue to set the standard at the top end of the market and with our metalwork design team excelling themselves once again, this is another successful high profile turnkey project for the Esprit hall of fame.”
